About the Competition

 

Top Austin Model is an annual, multistage competition for Austin-based models. Top Austin Model was created in 2011 and exclusively features Austin-based talent and businesses to serve as a platform for creative fashion professionals in Austin, Texas.  

 

 

Top Austin Model Casting

This open casting call invites models to audition for one of the coveted spots as a Top Austin Model contestant.  Participants meeting the minimum requirements will have the opportunity to walk twice for our panel of judges and pose for a mini-shoot. Fifteen models will be selected to move on in the competition.  This event is open to the public and invites family, friends, and fans to come out and support their favorite local models! 

 

Fan Favorite

The first challenge selected contestants will face is a photo shoot with one photo selected as their voting icon for the Top Austin Model Fan Favorite competition and added to the model's public portfolio.  Voting takes place online and at the Top Austin Model Showcase.  The Fan Favorite winner is announced at the Top Austin Model Finale. 

 

 

Top Austin Model Showcase

Semi-finalists will participate in a fashion show featuring local boutiques, designers, salons, etc.  Guests will enjoy live music and a fabulous fashion show before casting their vote for Top Austin Model Fan Favorite. 

 

 

Photo Shoots

Two additional photo shoots are included in the competition as challenges for Top Austin Model contestants.  Contestants will be challenged to showcase the work of Austin fashion professionals within provided concept guidelines.  Photos will be judged and one photo from each contestants' shoot will be revealed to the public and added to contestants' portfolios.

 

Top Austin Model Finale

Models will participate in a fashion show featuring local designers, salons, etc. in one final attempt to impress the judges and improve their score before the winner is selected.  Additional entertainment includes "Fabulous & Fashionable Men of Austin" and Top Austin Model "All Star" contestants on the runway.  The Fan Favorite, runner up, and Top Austin Model winner will be revealed at the end of night and prizes awarded.

 

 

Judges

The Top Austin Model panel of judges, consisting of three significant Austin figures and industry experts, will mentor contestants throughout the competition.  Additional guest judges will join our panel during each stage of the competition to determine the winner of Top Austin Model.
